Job Description:

Virtual Education Solutions (VES) organization is responsible for the development and transfer of education and training curriculum for In-vivo and In-vitro Customers, Sales and other Employees.  All individuals in VES work cross functionally with a network of subject matter experts, including but not limited to: clinical and internal experts, marketing, and global commercialization teams, as well as external partners in the development and delivery of education and training. Direction for VES is provided by establishing annual strategic imperatives. These imperatives will create the foundation of tactical initiatives for continued improvement in educational offering, customer relationships, method penetration, revenue generation, productivity, and building organizational excellence.

As a member of the Virtual Education Solutions team, the Innovation Consultant is responsible for 
deciphering business requirements and vision into new features and functionality for our global virtual education solution, PEPconnect, driving business goals and revenue growth.  Taking strategic and operational direction from the Manager of VES, the Innovation Consultant works with stakeholders across business areas, countries and regions to fully understand diverse business requirements, technical limitations and user needs and designs solutions that adhere to our legal, compliance and quality system requirements. The Innovation Consultant is responsible for conducting user research and stakeholder interviews and translating them into user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, data models and user stories.   Working closely with our external software and application development partner, the Innovation Consultant project manages the full design and development workflow of the new solution or feature, maintains project budget, conducts user acceptance testing before deploying the solution, timely communication and documentation of new features and implementation support as the feature is deployed.

Reports to Manager Virtual Education Solutions.  This position has no direct reports.



  1. Decipher business needs and concepts into user stories, flows, wireframes, and mockups that lead to intuitive user experiences
  2. Build relationships with stakeholders across the business as a solution provider and consultant by understanding their strategies and proposing solutions
  3. Design solutions that meet stakeholder needs and align with the VES strategic vision
  4. Communicate scenarios (hypothetical users), end-to-end experiences, interaction models, and screen designs to other people working on a project and to stakeholders
  5. Manage the full innovation project including tracking milestones, scheduling resources,  stakeholder/leadership communication and documentation
  6. Lead the internal project team to design the solution, define requirements, conduct user acceptance testing and support implementation after deployment
  7. Analyze user feedback and activity, and iterating to enhance the user experience
  8. Assist with content development, marketing, technical support and operation teams and consult as the infrastructure expert
  9. Participate in activities that support professional development, e.g., workshops, seminars, training
  10. Participate and represent VES at internal and external meetings. 



From time to time, the Incumbent’s supervisor/manager may assign additional unlisted duties/responsibilities on a temporary or regular basis depending on business needs.

Incumbent is responsible for understanding the Innovation Development and Release process and additional VES processes integrated into their work practices to augment the business such as: participating in clinical and other related meetings, conducting needs analyses, leading  innovation related meetings, maintaining project plans, and aligning with product launch initiatives. The incumbent is required to meet all Siemens Healthineers, CS, CS APPS, and VES process requirements for the functional group and Siemens Healthineers.


This is an active work position with some sitting, lifting a maximum of 10 lbs.; frequent standing/walking. There are no hazardous conditions relating to this position.  This position is performed in an office environment requiring no personal protection equipment.




Education – Bachelor’s degree in one of the following:  design, computer science, psychology or a healthcare related discipline plus formal coursework or experience in designing online user experiences. 


Experience – 3 to 4 years professional experience with increasing responsibility and various assignments in education, healthcare or eCommerce industry with proven track record.  High degree of interpersonal communication skills for negotiation, team leading, interviews, and presentations required.  Project planning and management skills essential for the numerous team projects. Experience working with cross cultural and/or global teams desired.  Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture preferred.  Experience with wireframing or rapid prototyping tools such as Balsamiq, Adobe Photoshop or inVision desired.  Basic understanding of website design and SQL preferred.  Must be committed to on-going intellectual and professional development.
