Position Overview

Responsible for the supply chain of the assigned commodities to ensure on-time delivery of parts. It is a tactical role within the Procurement Organization for Flender Corporation, which involves order placement in accordance to demand. It entitles the planning and expediting of components from the assigned supply base, to enable the assembly and testing of gearboxes for various markets, such as wind energy, mining and transportation. Needs to work cross-departmental for solving matters related to quality, AP, inventory and freight, among others. This position reports to Purchasing Manager.

 

Responsibilities

This position has the overall responsibility for the operational tasks within the procurement process. Some of these responsibilities include:

  • Creation and follow-up of purchase orders
  • Ensuring on-time delivery
  • Resolving accounts payable discrepancies
  • Coordinating solution to quality related topics
  • Implementing sourcing strategies from Commodity Management team
  • Ensuring on-time execution of demand changes and engineering changes
  • Maintaining up-to-date all relevant fields within ERP system
  • Closely monitoring while creating a successful relationship with supply-base
  • Sharing and implementing best practices.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 2+ years of progressive purchasing experience for direct materials in manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in SAP, particularly MM module
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Customer Focus
  • Good organizational and analytical skills
  • Team player
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Able to prioritize, manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing situations
