Job Description:

The CT Scientific Collaboration group is currently searching for a highly motivated, agile individual to take a Scientific Collaboration Manager position based in Houston, TX covering several luminary sites.  The Scientific Collaboration Manager position requires a broad skill set that allows an individual to develop new techniques with collaborators, to facilitate collaboration with academic partners, to drive joint projects, and to keep collaborators informed about the Siemens product portfolio. On a daily basis, the collaboration manager spends a significant amount of time onsite with collaboration partners in clinical and technical engagements, interacting with our portfolio of hardware and software products, traveling to/from partner sites and scientific conferences, collecting feedback pertinent to current and future product developments, and performing administrative and scientific project management responsibilities. These activities require an ability to rapidly switch between project management and scientific development with onsite and distant collaboration partners.


- Manage scientific collaborations at luminary institutions and drive joint projects that can lead to publications and/or extramural grant applications 

- Build and support strong collaborative relationships with key thought leaders

- Maintain clinical and technical expertise

- Keep customers & collaboration partners informed about the Siemens technologies

- Track milestones and deliverables of research projects

- Effectively communicate with Siemens internal audience and CT leadership

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

- PhD in related field

- 2 to 5 years of experience in industry or as post-doc

- High emotional intelligence

- Excellent presentation skills to communicate results and new developments to top collaborators,  internal audiences, and Siemens CT Leadership

- Excellent communication skills for daily interaction with top collaborators, key opinion leaders and Siemens staff

- Strong scientific and technical background in medical imaging (Physics, Image Post-Processing, Clinical Applications, computer science, data analytics, deep learning, etc.)

- Knowledge in designing and evaluating clinical studies and scientific publications

- Experience in working in a clinical and interdisciplinary environment

- Ability to take initiative and to lead projects

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

- Desire to learn, ask questions and be resourceful to identify innovative applications, develop own, creative solutions to complex problems

- Display a high level of critical thinking and problem solving skills

- Understanding of the requirements of product development

- Willingness to travel both nationally and internationally (~25%)
