Position Overview

The Production Scheduling Professional is a key position supporting the manufacturing of DC Switchgear for Siemens TPE (Rail Electrification), a division of Siemens Mobility, Inc. 

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities:   Supports organizational goals of on-time-delivery, quality, and cost-efficient production through accurate, appropriate, and efficient scheduling of manufacturing.  Reviews product demand entered into the system. Works with Materials Planner to inform of requirement dates for materials and assess availability of materials.  Coordinates with Project Management teams to align schedules with project requirements.  Coordinates activities between cross-functional teams.  Works primarily within SAP, scheduling software, & Excel to accomplish daily tasks.   Independently performs function, seeking guidance on non-routine or problem areas.  Identifies and reports problems as needed and takes appropriate steps to solve them. May work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.   Key work partners are primarily within Manufacturing , Materials Planning, Warehouse, Project Management, or other internal teams.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

Requirements:  BS/BA in a technical or manufacturing field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.  Requires proficiency with PC and common software programs such as Outlook, Excel, or Word. 

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

Work experience with Microsoft Project or other scheduling software is preferred.  Work experience with SAP or an equivalent MRP system is beneficial.   Work experience in a related position, having effectively used critical thinking, fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in scheduling for custom manufacturing is beneficial.
