Job Description:
As the Hardware Project Manager, you will be responsible for
managing electro-mechanical work packages between project teams located in
Knoxville, TN and our Siemens Healthineers divisions located in Germany. You will be expected to understand the
hardware system architecture then guide the team to break the work into
packages with robust interface definition.
The technology scope includes mechanics, electronics, firmware, and
embedded software. Through the course of
the multi-year project, the Hardware Project Manager will manage and report on
the risk register, schedule, and budget.
The role function is primarily conducted, and therefore
ideally based, in our Knoxville, TN office.
However, the position may be based in Hoffman Estates, IL with increased
travel. Ability and willingness to
travel up to 50% is required. Travel
between the domestic offices may occur monthly.
International travel may occur four to six times per year. The Project Manager may need to participate
in off-hours meetings in order to accommodate global time zones.
Responsibilities:
In cooperation with system architects, divide the complex
hardware architecture into work packages.
Identify opportunities for modular components for 3rd party
development. Author a Statement of Work
(SOW) and corresponding Hardware Design Specification (HDS) which define the
project scope, design requirements, budget, and technical interfaces
Develop and maintain a project plan and schedule
Provide technical leadership to resolve system level
conflicts
Ensure the day-to-day management of simultaneous projects by
acting as a liaison between the project team and partners external to Molecular
Imaging
Drive problem solving and finding creative solutions to
project challenges
Ensure the delivery of reliable and cost effective designs
within time and budget
Routinely report status to the project team and upper
management
Support the transfer to manufacturing and field service
activities
Experience:
BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,
Computer Science, or Systems Engineering
Minimum of 5 years in a technical management position leading
product development teams
Minimum of 5 years developing and documenting requirements
and design specifications
Strong project management background and skills
Experience in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Project and Office
Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (English). Additional skills in German language are a plus.
