Job Description:

CWR Conversion ONLY - Switchboard Operator Assembly 3 (2nd Shift)

Hourly Rate: $ 19.07 + $0.55 shift diff

Position Overview

Assembles or modifies electro mechanical equipment (Switchboards, etc.) with the use of mechanical tools and blue prints.

 

Responsibilities

  • Operates tools and equipment common to the mechanical trade (e.g. hand & power tools).
  • Processes work orders (with the use of computers, scanning devices, etc.) in adherence to the production schedule or expedited orders. 
  • Scans in and out of work orders (with the use of computers, scanning devices, etc.) in adherence to the production schedule or expedited orders. 
  • Reads and interprets documents associated with the completion of mechanical assembly assignments (e.g. blue prints, bill of materials, one line diagrams, etc.).
  • Capable to work on a fast pace environment
  • Able to react to constant changes and flexible to work in different assignments.
  • Gathers parts and accessories required in the assembly process.
  • Prepare the kits based on production schedules and priority.
  • Assemble the bus laminations for lug pad assembly and preparing the breakers.
  • Assembling the frames including indoor, outdoor, mounting interiors and top hats.
  • Closing out the indoor units which including lifting eyes, ground bus, horizontal bus, torqueing the bus connections, installation of top plate, rear cover, side cover, front covers and seal if required.
  • Preparing of weather proof door including gasketting, covers and locks.
  • Preparing the close up kits which may include glastic barriers, splice links, front panels, breaker cover, ground splice, main bonding jumper, roofs and doors, vents, CT doors.
  • Verifies that units meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.
  • Disassembles units to adjust or replace parts.
  • Marks unit assemblies with identifying information and/or attaches identifying tags.
  • Reports non-conforming items (e.g. parts, schematics, blue prints, etc.)
  • Prepares finished units for shipping (e.g. packing, sealing, labeling, etc.)
  • Cleans and maintains equipment and work area to ensure proper functioning and safe working conditions.
  • Accesses and utilizes various documents, with the use of computers, associated with the manufacture of products in assembly (e.g. Quality and Safety Documents, Operating Instructions, etc.)
  • Performs other work as directed by Supervision.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Must have good attendance record.
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Basic Computer Skills, and use of basic mechanical/measuring tools

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Wiring experience and technical aptitude a plus.
