The Technician is responsible for the fabrication and assembly of complete chromatographs and / or Systems Integration (SI) projects. The Technician works from engineering drawings, sketches, and blueprints to produce the completed product to customer specifications. The Technician is required to develop a methodical construction approach requiring considerable originality, judgment, and technical skill and utilizes specialized tools to perform complex machining, fabrication, and assembly operations. The Technician determines the most effective routing and placement of electrical, electro-mechanical, and mechanical piping, configures, and constructs the chromatograph or SI project accordingly.
High school diploma or GED
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Work performed standing up to 90% of the day.
Tasks include climbing ladders and some lifting above your head.
2 – 5 years of mechanical assembly and sub-assembly experience required.
Read blue prints and engineering drawings.
Ability to run and bend piping from a 1/16" diameter to a 3/4" diameter.
Travel is required for the first nine (9) months of employment for training only.
Install complex multi-position valves, including run piping headers cut and thread conduit and pipe.
Install wiring from engineering drawings, pull wire, terminate wire connections.
Mount equipment and sample systems.
May function as project leader, may assign and check work of lower level personnel.
