Job Description:

Position Overview
The Customer Services Motion Control Machine Tool Service Consultant position will assist Siemens sales force on pre-sales and post-sales consulting activities to articulate the value proposition to our customer.  The role will support the service sales efforts and implementation of Siemens MC digital services portfolio. Including on going consulting engagement activity to assist customer in the identification of productivity improvement activities and customization of tools/applications.  The service consultant role will help drive the top line growth of CS Motion Control Service for Siemens by maximizing the number of connected customers to the Siemens digital platforms by helping to ensure customer’s perceived value. Review customer’s use cases and sales proposals for products and service opportunities to determine feasibility to drive an optimized solution. Maintain customer contact, providing comprehensive technical product application support. Provides management with suggestions for improving volume, market share and price levels. The right candidate will understand Machine Tool Analytics, CS MC Digitalization portfolio and the go to market strategy. 

The role may be based next to any major international airport in the United States mainland and report into the US CS MC Segment Head based in Alpharetta/GA. 

The applicant must be a US citizen due to DoD’s and customer’s regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Support Siemens vertical/industrial salesforce and customers related to the Siemens MC digital services portfolio.
  • Identify, qualify and track prospects and customers for Siemens MC digital services portfolio as technical sales expert.
  • Identify customer use cases, develop and conduct demonstrations of Siemens MC digital services portfolio.
  • Provide technical input for quotes on Siemens MC Digital Services portfolio.
  • Implement projects related to Siemens MC Digital Services portfolio to customers.
  • Monitor customer journey before, during and after project implementation to ensure customer satisfaction and open cross/upselling opportunities.
  • Represent the Digitalization expertise in marketing efforts, such as events and conferences.
  • Acquires, plans and conducts projects to improve customer business operations by applying appropriate technical solutions and business methodologies.
  • May be responsible for identifying and developing business opportunities and innovating consulting portfolio.
  • Elicits and evaluates customer requirements and contributes to developing consulting portfolio to address specific customer situations.
  • Travel Required: 50%.
 
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education. and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science or another Technology-related degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical sales and business development.
  • 5+ years of experience in the machine tool business (sales, design, maintenance or operation of machine tools).
  • Experience in digital/IoT platforms is desirable.

  • Experience in data analytics is an advantage.
