Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Java Developer with at least five

years of experience in building and supporting web-based applications

to join our scrum team building applications and microservices on

Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure.

follow a rigorous agile development process that includes unit testing,

code reviews, refactoring, and continuous integration using modern

tools and technology enabling us to continually deliver end-to-end

value.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participate in the scrum development team as a senior developer doing

full-stack web development with Java and other languages as needed

• Work with peers to analyze technical design options and implement

solutions that are efficient, scalable and meet the acceptance criteria

• Ensure software developed adheres to best practices and quality

standards through code and design reviews

• Write unit tests that fully cover all new code

• Write quality documentation at both the code and business level

• Collaborate with non-technical sponsors and stakeholders to

understand their requirements, analyze potential solutions, and

translate requirements into solid designs

• Develop, test, deploy and maintain scalable web applications

• Develop and maintain AWS infrastructure resources using

CloudFormation templates

• Incorporate security directly into development/design activities

(DevSecOps)

• Support and troubleshoot applications

 

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

• 5+ years of highly developed skills in HTML, CSS, Javascript, and Java web

application development experience

• Experience with Version Control Software – Git preferred

• Experience writing unit tests (e.g. JUnit)

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) – particularly AWS

CloudFormation

• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

• Demonstrated problem solving skills

• Proficient with Linux

• Ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines, roles, and

geographical and time-zone boundaries

• Passion for software craftsmanship

 

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

• Experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, etc.)

• Experience with Client Side Scripting Frameworks (AngularJS, Polymer,

etc.)

• Experience with Serverless architecture (AWS Lambda)

• Experienced with Git and branching models

• Familiarity with micro services architecture

• Familiarity with responsive web design

• Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, HTTPS,

SMTP, SSH)

• Familiarity with AWS Code Pipeline or other continuous

integration/deployment solutions

• Familiarity with JIRA
