Consulting Portfolio Manager

Position Overview
We are looking for a strong, entry-level professional with the talent and motivation to develop in the role of Consulting Portfolio Manager.  The successful candidate will demonstrate the intellectual capacity to master complexity and thrive on a perpetually steep learning curve, working alongside our Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in support of both our established consulting portfolio as well as the development of emerging consulting business service offerings.  We require a professional who is driven to achieve high impact, high quality results, interfacing across organizational boundaries while maintaining a relentless heads-up focus on our customers and markets.  The position reports to the Head of Consulting for Power Technologies International (PTI) inside the Siemens Digital Grid business unit.
  • Supports data gathering and processes for Siemens Market Intelligence
  • Synthesizes market research and customer needs; builds and evaluates business cases that support strategic planning and investment decisions
  • Collaborates with Sales to understand consulting sales pipeline, probability, risk, timing, business impact and customer requirements as input into the consulting portfolio
  • Leads Operational Excellence initiatives that improve our CRM system data quality, reporting, and the production of accurate customer/market insights that guide effective decision-making
  • Supports executives with development of effective sales programs and training materials that promote the consulting portfolio across the larger Siemens Sales organization 
  • Develops target market and customer lists for the pursuit of defined portfolio initiatives
  • Monitors, facilitates and reports on consulting customer engagement activities across all senior staff; tracking existing and new target account activities, achievements and expenditures
  • Supports in the preparation of proposals from a commercial perspective. Creates boiler plate proposal content for repeat consulting work.  Leads Operational Excellence initiatives that improve quality, processes and reduce SG&A hours spent in proposal writing
  • Creates and maintains consulting experience summaries and references.  Creates example cases for use in client presentations, proposals and demonstrations
  • Defines requirements and helps Marketing produce standard collaterals and presentation materials for customer engagements, demonstrations and industry events
  • Lead customer feedback survey (NPS) efforts on an annual basis; be a consulting portfolio champion externally and passionate voice of the customer internally
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • B.S. in Engineering and/or Computer Science, or other fields specific to energy financial markets, data science and analytics
  • MBA or 2-3 years equivalent business experience relevant to Responsibilities outlined
  • Travel required up to 25%
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, ability to establish relationships and influence effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Strong self-starter with entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
