Job Description:

Implements given ECC processes and procedures in the assigned functional, regional and/or organizational units. Develops plans and solutions in order to ensure EX compliance and process optimization.
This position will have functional responsibility for collaborating with the business to ensure all transactions are compliant with export control regulatory requirements in the USA and globally. Position will functionally report to Finance and work closely with the Compliance organization to ensure policy and process adherence with the Siemens Export Control organization. Position will lead a global team of Export Control Associates responsible for screening and clearing day-to-day sales transactions by making a risk based analysis to ensure full compliance with all export requirements defined by the Siemens Export Control organization.


Ensures implementation and control of EX regulations, processes and procedures in the assigned area of responsibility.  Develops, implements and enforces guidelines, solutions and plans in order to optimize processes. Implements EX guidelines on existing processes as well as adapts processes according to the legal changes related to the ICP on a timely basis. Ensures the qualification and selection of personnel.
Ensures controlling and reporting of EX activities.
  • Work with assigned business units to help business understand and meet export control requirements under applicable law and the Siemens Internal Control Program
  • Screen transactions for compliance with all applicable export regulations – including review of end-use and end-users
  • Work flexible hours as needed to support the global business and EX team and ensure transactions are cleared on a timely basis, particularly at quarter end
  • Point of escalation and approval for certain transactions in SAP which may present export control risks
  • Actively engage business to identify export control risks and implement risk mitigation strategies. Identify business activities not in compliance with the Internal Control Program and identify resources to work on effective remediation
  • Communicates within the department to ensure consistency in application of export control requirements and facilitates harmonization of processes, methods and standards
  • Assists with implementation and execution of Export Control training as needed
  • Acts as trusted Export Control partner with the Compliance organization and global business and manages issues as necessary
  • Ensures accuracy and effectiveness of all export control communications
  • Assists with other export related tasks as instructed by the export business partner
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent education and/or experience in related field.
  • Knowledge of international trade regulations and impact on business processes, including but not limited to, the Export Administration Regulations, OFAC Regulations, ITAR Regulations, and E.U. Dual-Use Regulations.
  • Experience implementing trade compliance applications and solutions for a medium–large sized entity.
  • Prior experience with SAP and export transaction clearance preferred.
  • Prior experience in the software industry preferred.
  • Strong ability to communicate requirements to the business.
