Job Description:

What is the Sales and Marketing Development Program?


The Sales and Marketing Development Program (SMDP) is a 14-month development program where you will complete a rotation in four different energy-related groups within Siemens, specifically focused on products and services related to Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution, and Digitalization. Each of the four rotations will be three-months in duration.

With Siemens’ team of owners as your guide throughout the program you will develop and fine-tune your technical and commercial competencies in both the sales and marketing fields. In addition to rotating through four energy related businesses, the program will assist in preparing you for a permanent position within Siemens by providing more than eight weeks of training. Training will include things such as formalized on-the-job training, business and technical workshops, and numerous networking events enabling program participants to understand the business and establish a solid network within Siemens. Upon completion of the program individuals will become an integral part of either Siemens Marketing Department or Field Sales organization.

How do I become Part of the Sales and Marketing Development Program?

Candidates are selected for the program through a rigorous interview process which starts via on-campus events or by applying to the position online followed by an online screen and concluded by an in-person, final interview event conducted at our North American Headquarters in Orlando, FL.


If you are selected to be a participant in the program you are expected to:
• Relocate to Orlando for the duration of the program
• Be willing to relocate to cities outside of Orlando for any number of the four rotations.
• Be able to start in July.

This is a full-time position with benefits and is designed to create a sustainable career path within Siemens.


What qualifications are required for candidates of the Sales and Marketing Development Program? 

• Majors: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial/System Engineering, Industrial Distribution, or Business (with technical or engineering experience).
• Graduation Date: Must graduate by the program start date, but no more than six months prior.
• Minimum GPA: 3.0 preferred
• Relocation and Travel: Must be willing to relocate and travel as required by program.
• Work Authorization: Permanent work authorization in the U.S. is required.
