Software/Application Engineer – Advanced

You will be a member of the Motion team, responsible for the development of multi-body dynamic simulation applications based on our CAD/CAE platform called Simcenter 3D. You will be tasked with the design and implementation of parts of this application as well as applying our solutions to engineering challenges.
Design, develop, modify/maintain and implement software functionality.
Implementation according to specifications, quality standards and schedule.
Participation in internal and external technical meetings to discuss new developments
Writing functional and design specifications
Create mechanical system simulation models
Validate/ensure the quality of the software through unit and consolidation testing, writing automated tests, and bug fixing.
Reporting on technical work and progress to project leader
Produce initial draft of user documentation in English.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree - Computer science or Engineering degree with experience or additional training in software development.
2 years’ experience in programming with .Net using C#, VB, and/or C++
Knowledge and understanding of OO design techniques
Familiarity with commercial CAD software
Demonstrable experience creating abstract models of complex physical systems using CAE solutions (Multi-body dynamics, finite element analysis, or similar system simulation software tools)
Familiar with Windows environment
Strong written and oral communication skills in English
Ability to listen to both internal and external customers to capture requirements
Ability to travel internationally to coordinate with our development centers and customers, 5 to 10%

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
Mechanical Engineering degree with extensive programming experience to solve engineering problems
3+ year’s development experience
Proficiency (one or more years) in designing, developing and deploying cloud based solution using AWS.
Background and/or course work in CAE areas such as CAD, Kinematics and Dynamics, FEA, controls, hydraulics, fatigue, vibrations, and numerical methods.
Knowledge of NX applications and NX or Teamcenter development environment
Expertise with commercial multi-body dynamics and/or finite element software.
Experience in commercial software development and architecture
Experience of UI design and implementation
