Training Resource Manager


Position Overview:


As part of the Learning Services management team, the Training Resource Manager will manage a medium-sized resource team delivering high quality, commercially responsible, value-driven training/consulting business, providing technical expertise to meet the goals of the business.


In this role, the Resource Manager provides coaching in, and if appropriate, sets the direction in own area of responsibility for the development and delivery of Learning Services business and operations. 


Where appropriate, in partnership with the country or vertical management team, contribute to the sales and services pipeline strategy, understanding the Learning Services contribution requirements. 


You will oversee allocated key projects, actively engaging to review effective services delivery in line with business guidelines and monitor customer satisfaction.  Represent Siemens on customer review boards for accounts, as appropriate, and provide customer relationship management.


The Training Resource Manager will also oversee decisions such as recruitment, training and development, performance management, etc., in line with relevant regulations for area of responsibility.




  • Participate, and where appropriate, lead the delivery of global initiatives originating from global services priorities and strategies.
  • Contribute to, and where appropriate lead, the definition of a comprehensive multi‐year strategy and the development of subsequent business plans for area of responsibility, based on past experience, appreciation and understanding of the marketplace and the current key drivers for the area of responsibility, aligned with zone and global goals
  • Closely monitor the market reaction to the Services strategy for area of responsibility and adjust plans accordingly
  • Provides input, and where appropriate leads, the definition of the services partnering strategy for area of responsibility, including interaction and delivery models with channel, systems integration services and alliance partners; build key relationships with partners and supports the delivery of the strategy within own business area Understand and apply the Siemens PLM Global strategy
  • Ensure the delivery of internal communications and awareness of corporate direction, mission, aims and procedures in business terms
  • Contribute to, or where appropriate lead, the definition of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for area of responsibility
  • Set appropriate budget plans for business unit
  • Manage and control unit expenditure and headcount within agreed budgets, monitoring on‐going progress against AOP
  • Contribute to the definition of the zone and/or country Services AOP
  • Support the development and facilitation of the long term holistic strategy for customer retention in conjunction with other internal business units, to leverage future opportunities and growth within the customer’s wider business
  • Ensures correct services reporting systems within area of responsibility are in place and operate effectively to meet fiscal and legal requirements, reporting accurately both within Country and to Zone organization
  • Ensure all business activities meet and integrate with organizational requirements for quality management, compliance management health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care
  • Where required, contribute to the zone debate on the services approach and capability for the future, and the definition of the strategic zone agenda for the evolution of the Services business for Siemens PLM
  • As part of the Services Management team, define and drive the Services agenda within the area of responsibility to ensure that initiatives are focused toward using high quality, repeatable delivery and customer excellence to drive future software and Services sales in line with global objectives
  • Business Development and Engagement Support the Services activities within the Country/Vertical to ensure initiatives are focused on maturing and optimizing the Services business in line with top‐down initiatives and go‐to‐market approaches toward using high quality, standardized and repeatable best practices, providing fast time to value systems plus establishing processes and solution portfolio to deliver customer project excellence
  • Develop sound business cases for dedicated Country/Vertical Services initiatives for business, process improvements and knowledge management that support the Country/Vertical business objectives and their related activities
  • Serve as business and commercial expert for dedicated areas or offerings of
  • Country/Vertical Services, delivering guidance and advice on business rigor within commercial constraints and considering standard options for Services delivery to optimize margin and align with Country/Vertical strategy
  • Responsible for the small country/vertical Services P&L, develops Services business plan in alignment to strategy
  • Provide accurate forecasts and pipeline reports for Services business as defined by standard operating procedures, and report these to Country/Vertical Services Management, Zone Management and Finance meetings as required Process Discipline
  • Lead team activity to support the adoption and implementation of (Siemens) Best Practice processes and procedures for the delivery of Services activities within
  • SISW channel, systems integration, and strategic partner companies
  • Understand the definition and lead the execution of business processes around the delivery of services. These would include processes for review development and delivery of projects, proposals, change orders, and statements of work
  • Execute the project escalation processes including Services, Sales and Product development. This should include any items that could impact the delivery of the project successfully to the customer.
  • Continuously follow up until the specific escalation has completed and the issues have been cleared

Required and Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s Degree, in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Marketing and/or Sales (or equivalent work experience)
  • Project management skills
  • People management skills
