Job Description:

  • The Director of Software Development is responsible for managing a team of software developers across multiple sites including off-shore and contractors to develop medical device software for in-vitro diagnostics industry.
  • Incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the design of the software including following all the outlined process of code review, design review and unit and integration testing.
  • Will work very collaboratively with other functions of engineering including but not limited to Electrical, Mechanical and System engineering teams to deliver the product to the market.
  • Will also work with non-engineering functions including Service, Labeling, Manufacturing and Supply chain to deliver products to the market and provide post- market service and software updates.
  • Works closely with Leadership and other stakeholders to deliver on key strategic goals of the organization.
  • Works towards continuous improvement of software quality by utilizing the latest processes and tools and technologies
Qualifications –
  • At least 5 years of experience managing technical teams in Software,
  • Must have shipped the software products to the field and maintained the fielded products.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Must have worked in Agile development Environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Development environments including .NET/C# and C++
  • Strong knowledge and experience of mobile device development (iOS / Android)
  • Strong communication skills – ability to crisply describe a problem and provide solutions.
  • Strong track record of hiring and retaining talent.
  • Work with off-shore teams a plus.
  • Experience managing and maintaining department budget
  • Experience in Medical device industry a plus but not mandatory
