Senior Business Analyst
The business analyst will act as technical lead on assigned digitization projects within the Quality organization. The business analyst will be responsible for solving business problems through the analysis of data, define business requirements and to translating into solutions through the use of technology (architecture, tools, and software applications).
The role will interact cross-functionally with members of Quality, Pre-market Biostatistics, Data Governance, and Information Technology.
This is an ideal role for someone who is detail-oriented, have strong problem solving and programming skills, a collaborative mindset, and enthusiasm for topics related to data analysis, programming, presentation of data, and information technology. A willingness to share this enthusiasm with colleagues and to have fun is a must for our team.
The position will report to the Director of Pre-market Biostatistics within Medical, Statistical, and Scientific Affairs (MSSA).
This position will be based in Tarrytown, NY. Candidates may also be considered for other locations in Glasgow, DE.
Analyze data associated with product quality using data analysis tools (e.g. SAS, QlikView) and make conclusions regarding trends in quality metrics.
Collect and translate business requirements into specifications that can be implemented into software or database solutions.
Develop and support validation of data and data analysis tools in SAS or R and data visualization/dashboards in SAS Visual Analytics or QlikView applications.
Develop and maintain documentation (e.g. Business requirements, validation documentation, procedures) on database and software solutions.
Act as key software tool owner who will provide internal support (e.g. troubleshooting, training, audits) to databases and software tools maintained by the Quality department.
Provide recommendations for continuous improvement of data analysis and management practices for quality metrics.
Participate and contribute within cross-functional teams responsible for improving Information Technology and digitization throughout Siemens Healthineers. Keep abreast of projects and deliverables on related IT projects that would impact data analysis and management tools developed for quality.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
BS in Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Informatics, or other quantitative discipline. Master degree highly preferred.
Experience with developing dashboards and other data visualizations using QlikView, SAS Visual Analytics, or Tableau.
Proficiency with SAS at Base Certification level or equivalent practical experience. Experience with SAS Enterprise Guide and SAS Data Integration Studio is desired.
Experience in database management systems, particularly in the development of queries, creation of tables and aggregation of tables using SQL.
Experience with supporting software validation of data analysis software tools.
Organizational and good documentation skills are essential

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
- SAS macro programming and advanced data handling/summarizing concepts (SAS/Macro, SAS PROC REPORT and/or PROC COMPARE)
- Knowledge of statistical methodology and data analysis using SAS or R.
- Work experience within Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience with trending and analysis of complex data from multiple source preferably within the context of post-market quality surveillance
