Second Shift Production Supervisor. Performs the completion of projects within the Rotor, Punch Press, Materials, and Machining Departments/Areas. Completes complex product manufacturing to ensure that cost effectiveness, manufacturability, quality, and safety requirements are attainable in the production process. Ensures accuracy and availability of complex procedures to support product modifications and assembly. Meets or improves on planned product/system cost standards and expense budgets.
•Supervise approximately 10-25 hourly manufacturing personnel.
•Ensure all safety requirements for both OSHA and site specific are adhered to.
•Coordinate with both upstream and downstream manufacturing supervisors and production control to meet production requirements.
•Conduct weekly safety audits and bimonthly safety talks with departments.
•Assign organization and housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe work environment using standard 6S procedures.
•Successfully defines work flows, jobs, and reporting relationships to obtain optimum effectiveness.
•Impact of decisions on business operations can have a moderate to high level of impact.
•May develop departmental budgets and business plans for functional area.
•May evaluate and recommend changes in methods or procedures in own area of responsibility.

Job Family Responsibilities:
Demonstrates and applies broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for managed work group(s) and how it supports related operations. Demonstrates understanding and application of supervisory approaches for work direction, motivation, performance management, and disciplinary action. Typically 5-8 years of successful experience in a directly related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.
BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of
education and experience. Certification may be required in some areas.
Knowledge and Experience:
Successful knowledge and experience in machining including: CNC Lathes, CNC O.D. Grinders, CNC Mill/Turn, Manual Lathes, Manual Grinders and Punch Press equipment. Knowledge and experience of Welding Processes and Equipment including: AWS standards, MIG welding, Submerged-Arc Welding, TIG Welding and Stick Welding.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
- Understanding of Lean principles and practices.
- Knowledge and experience of Total Productive Maintenance systems.
- Read and Interpret Blueprints.
- Knowledge of machine finishes and runout.
- Understand tolerances, both Metric and Standard measurement systems.
- Experience with various types of measuring equipment: Micrometers, Calipers, Thread gages, etc.
- Preferred knowledge of CNC equipment/programs.
- Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
Direction of Others:
Typically manages non-exempt administrative or technical employees, and/or lower level exempt employees.

Primarily intra-organizational contacts and external contacts.
