Job Description:

Job Summary

As a Fire Detection Systems Technician you will be responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance on existing fire detection systems on Cape Canaveral Air Station. These systems include several different panel manufacturers.

 

Responsibilities

·        Test and inspect Fire detection systems per NFPA and UFC applicable codes.

o   Document and write a report on all discrepancies found during tests and inspections of the Fire Alarm Systems, recommend needed repairs

o   Complete repairs on discrepancies found during inspections

·        Support both scheduled and unscheduled outages.

·        Support all launches as required by Flight sheets

·        Contribute to and support an after-hours on-call schedule

 

Qualifications

·        Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a US Secret Security clearance.

·        Minimum of a High School diploma. Technical Degree in a related field is highly preferred.

·        Minimum of three (3) years of experience of maintaining fire detection systems

·        NICET II Certification in Fire Detection

·        Strong time management skills, with the ability to meet all required metric time targets set forth by customer

·        Ability to follow engineered job plans and make suggestions on improvements to systems in job plans.

·        Ability to complete repairs independently with little to no complications

·        Ability to work successfully on a team as well as independently

·        Strong communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to write clear and concise reports and speak to what is documented in the report to managers.

·        In possession of an active Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

·        Ability to hold and be responsible for a CCAS (Cape Canaveral Air Station) area access badge.

·        Ability to maintain all necessary certifications needed for this position.

 

Security Clearance

·        U.S citizen with no ties to another country (i.e., dual citizenship, property ownership) and the ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance
