The Procurement Category Manager is a key contributor to the serviceability of Siemens’s customer owned vehicles by securing ongoing supply of direct materials required throughout the vehicle’s lifecycle. This position is in the Mobility CS Department which provides long term maintenance, repairs and aftermarket parts for Siemens Light Rail, Passenger Locomotives and Passenger Coaches throughout North America. This position is located in McClellan, CA.
This role will report into the Strategic Procurement Manager for Mobility, Customer Service Business U.S.
ResponsibilitiesThe Procurement Category Manager is responsible for executing departmental objectives including but not limited to:
• Sourcing – Supplier selection and eEvents
• Negotiation – Contractual and Pricing
• Analysis – Spend and opportunity
• Supplier Management – Drive performance and innovation
• Generate, document and implement savings
Candidate must collaborate with Internal Customers to ensure customer care and early involvement.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
BS/BA in related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum 5 years of successful experience in, and related to, the Strategic Sourcing or Category/ Commodity Management
