Job Description:

The Mendix portfolio management team defines and manages the activities that help successful adoption of Mendix within Siemens PL business unit. This position reports directly into our Mendix portfolio strategy organization. The portfolio management team working closely across various business segments within Siemens PL and enables such teams to develop business and product plans for Mendix based apps that fit into the Siemens PL business strategy. The portfolio management team is responsible for evaluating business strategy, business case/model, technical feasibility and investing in ideas for Siemens PL products that leverage Mendix. This role reports to the head of the portfolio management team and will have a great opportunity to showcase their business and technology acumen.

Responsibilities (Pre-requisites and Essential Functions)

  • Coordinate with various segment product management, marketing, business development/sales personnel, etc., to generate a common and aligned view on a prioritized list of portfolio proposals.
  • With some funding, help PL segment product management convert the portfolio opportunities and approved proposals into a development roadmap with clear delivery and timing commitments.
  • Help PL segments, industry groups, global / product marketing teams launch portfolio items via various sales channels.
  • Review and assist PL segments in positioning their applications in alignment with the portfolio strategy in adopting Mendix within the Siemens PL eco-system.
  • Display clear understanding of Mendix and Mendix cloud, and assist the segments in successful adoption of Mendix environment and deployment scenarios.
  • Understand markets, competition and customer/user requirements in depth and contribute towards the overall portfolio initiative and it's roadmap
  • Work with customers and segments to identify market opportunities, build business cases, and define product vision and strategy across the scope of the portfolio.
  • Conduct project reviews and Quality Assurance Reviews by coordinating with the segments.
  • Build collaborative business relationships with individual PL segments to help them effectively adopt Mendix and contribute towards the portfolio’s business goals. Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience (Pre-requisites and Essential Functions)
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • A minimum of 10 year overall experience. 3 yearsof experience in a product owner, business analyst or technology strategy role.
  • Experience working within Cloud, SaaS and emerging cloud use-cases for web/mobile and enterprise companies.
  • Deeper understanding in one or more of Siemens PL domain areas such as Manufacturing, Product Lifecycle Management, Manufacturing Operations Management, Computer Aided Design, Manufacturing Execution Systems, Enterprise Resource Planning etc.
  • Experience and deeper understanding in the advanced technology areas such as Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning, and Internet of Things (IoT). • Knowledge in one or more specific Siemens PL software applications such as Teamcenter, mentor, NX will be a huge plus.
  • Advanced understanding of business areas such as low-code platforms (aka application platform as a service (aPaaS)).
  • Experience working on enterprise products.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and influencing skills, with proven ability to take initiative and build strong, productive relationships.
  • Experience in agile software development. Able to adapt to change and open minded.
