Job Description:

Siemens Smart Infrastructure is currently searching for an experienced Sales Account Executive to sell Building Performance and Sustainability Solutions to new and existing customers in Cleveland, Columbus and Western Pennsylvania territories. This position will ideally be located in the Northeast Ohio territory and will report directly to the zone sales manager located in Cleveland OH. The account executive will focus on customers in both the public and private higher education sector. The primary responsibility of the Account Executive is to sell energy management performance based solutions that will enable the customer to reduce energy and improve their existing infrastructure. 

Additional responsibilities include:

• Working with team members to effectively identify customer needs
• Develop and submit financial (proposals and presentations) justifications to C-Suite executives
• Prospect and qualify new customers while selling the Siemens Value proposition as it relates to energy solutions

Develop a vertical market and geographic account management with a strategic growth plan
• Obtains letters of intent and arranges financing 
• Works with operations, finance, legal and other inside and outside resources as needed
• Manage long term customer relationships
• Assists in resolving installation, collections and other customer satisfaction issues as needed 
• Prepares accurate and thorough sales activity reports, forecast reports and expense tracking
• Participates in civic and professional organizations, sales department meetings, workshops and seminars 
• Keeps current on market business and product trends 

Qualifications the ideal candidate will have include:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Business or a related field, although candidates with a combination of experience and education could also be considered (a High School Diploma or GED is a minimum requirement)

• Experience selling in the Higher Education markets, with 5-7 years’ experience in C-Suite sales specifically in the Ohio and Western Pennsylvania territories


• Candidates with C-Suite sales experience in a related industry selling services to the Higher Education market (such as financial, insurance, support services, etc.) will also be considered

• Requires a medium level of financial expertise with an aptitude to gain an understanding of related technical, engineering, contractual, and energy efficiency concepts


Requires a medium level of contract expertise with an aptitude to gain an understanding of customer related contractual language as well as new and changes to state legislation for public entities   

• Customer relationships at this level are primarily C-level and solution-oriented -- candidates who will be successful in this role must have proven experience executing strategic solution-oriented sales to top executives

• Excellent verbal, written, organizational and negotiation skills necessary

• Must possess a valid Driver’s license in good standing and be at least 21 years of age in order to participate in the required Siemens vehicle plan
