Position Overview

Supports project engineering, customer service or production requirements to ensure that material and production plans are available to implement on schedule

         Recommends corrective actions to be taken to ensure that manufacturing and shipping performance measurements are met in accordance with company specific goals.

         Works closely with management and cross-functional business partners in resolving moderate to complex problems

         Strong facilitation, decision making and communications skill

         Leads discussion with order entry, production, management and other cross-functional business partners in resolving priorities between customer sales orders, intercompany transfers and customer service orders

         Maintain appropriate inventory levels and recommend necessary actions to control inventory and minimize risk

         Proficient knowledge in inventory management and SAP skills which are an asset in processing the scope of information that must be analyzed to make inventory decisions

         Experience and skill in converting forecasts and planning into the MRP system (SAP) and interpreting the results

         Drive consolidation of forecasts from different streams e.g. production, CS, R&D, S&OP etc.. and creates and loads an inventory Forecast for assigned production materials in to SAP

         Works in conjunction with Buyers to communicate material forecast to different suppliers periodically (i.e. - board, cable, consignment)

         Maintain MRP controller codes for planning

         Monitors demand and inventory levels for production subassemblies

         Creates production orders for Production subassemblies

         Works closely with Buyer/Planners on forecast and demand planning

         Provides and communicates forecast data to top spend suppliers

         Recommends the min/max levels on consignment and contract warehouse agreements, based on demand and forecast data

         At this level, the individual is self-sufficient and makes decisions with very little guidance.

         Knowledge of SAP functions within the scope of MRP and Materials Management

         Assists others to resolve issues with production orders and inventory accuracy

         Works with Production and Buyers on Missing Parts

         Release requisitions to purchasing as needed

         Member of Product change committee

         Review Inventory quarterly and recommend materials for scrap

         Review PCN's and sign off in Teamcenter

         Review new part numbers going into SAP for accuracy of information

         Maintain planning information on all Customer Service parts

         Answer daily questions to Customer Service personnel regarding availability of parts

         Backorder parts to overhead/production orders for anyone that needs it

         Make changes to requisitions for buyers as needed

         Review any purchase orders for components suppliers need from us

         Keep track of obsolete parts, usage, how long they will last for R&D and production

         Review any excess inventory from suppliers

         Review Kanban cards and take action based on approved process


Qualifications Required

-         SAP forecasting, demand planning and production planning, inventory management and purchasing experience

-         Excellent analytical skills

-         Excellent Excel skillset


-         3-5 year’s experience

-         Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management or similar background

-         APICS certification

-         Strong Facilitation and Communication skills
