Job Description:

BUSWAY GROUP LEADER (1st Shift)


Position Overview

Work as part of a team having responsibility for the area.  Group Leader performs all tasks conducted by the team in the area and works with other departments to ensure the material availability and workflow, the Group Leader also rotates through all or most of them rather than being assigned to a specific task on a permanent basis.  May participate in making decisions affecting the work.


Responsibilities

  • ·     Coordinates employees to fulfill the schedule of work

  • Lead the activities for training.

  • Realize SAP transactions as needed before, during and after the production process.

  • Update reports and files as required for the calculation of metrics / measurements of the area.

  • Identify and report to the proper support function of any issue impacting the area. Proactively approaches the points of contact for those departments and forges a working relationship to resolve them.

  • Responsible for the CIP Team / Projects by empowering the team for ownership.

  • Back up for Supervisor when needed.

  • Enforce 5S, Lean principles in the team / area.

  • Responsible for the Training actions defined by the Supervisor, including updating the matrix.

  • Cleans and maintains equipment and work area to ensure proper functioning and safe working conditions.

  • Accesses and utilizes various documents, with the use of computers, associated with the manufacture of products (e.g. Quality and Safety Documents, Operating Instructions, etc.)

  • Performs other work as directed by Supervision.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Must have good attendance 
  • 3-5 years in manufacturing environment
  • Must have Assembly Experience (Currently working in Assembly line)
  • Actively involved on Safety Initiatives
  • High School or Equivalent (desirable 2 year degree). 
  • Knowledge on all the operations of the assembly / fabrication / process of the area 
  • Knowledge of material flow
  • SAP transaction knowledge
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office 
  • Knowledge on operating basic mechanical / measuring tools

  • Good communication skills with other employees and support functions

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office

  • Organized

  • Change agent

  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language

  • Must be able to reach, grasp, lift 50 lbs., and push/pull/slide heavy material

  • Must be able to make coordinated movements of the hands and arms to grasp and move objects.

  • Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, crawl, and climb

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Busway experience

  • SPS 

  • 5S

  • Problem solving (A3, 8D, etc)

  • CIP (Leader / Facilitator)

Working Conditions: Job involves typically working indoors, being assigned to any of the different shifts, occasionally lifting heavy materials, wearing common safety equipment (e.g. cut resistant gloves and sleeves, safety shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs, etc.) being exposed to loud noises and the possibility of bumps, cuts, scrapes, and strains.
