Job Description:

Position Overview

Siemens Building Technologies is searching for an energetic Financial Analyst to join our field planning and reporting team. Located in our Buffalo Grove, IL headquarters, the Financial Analyst is responsible for not only driving, but also finding innovative ways to improve, the planning and reporting processes and ultimately our national field organization.

 

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates data, prepares, consolidates, and critically reviews forecasts, analyzes trends, and presents results pertaining to sales, operations, manufacturing, information systems, general business conditions, and other areas
  • Researches, adapts, and champions new developments in the field of finance planning, controlling, and reporting for the field finance organization
  • Identifies and drives resolution of planning, controlling, and reporting issues and acts as the voice of the field for same
  • Coordinates deliverables with difficult timelines from a large, geographically diverse, field organization
  • Works directly with business partners, management, and others to develop targets and evaluate their achievement
  • Identifies, communicates, and remediates internal control issues
  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex financial problems including the creations of financial models, development and testing of multiple scenarios and outcomes and provides feedback to assist in management decisions
  • Represents the organization as an internal and external contact
  • Advises management on issues of business significance
  • Ensures all work is compliant with Siemens policies and procedures and that financial information is prepared in accordance with GAAP, Siemens, and SBT accounting guidelines
  • Lives the Siemens ownership culture by always striving to make things better  

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Ability to apply your unique skillset in a dynamic, fast paced, environment
  • Bachelor’s, or similar degree in Finance, Accounting, or other applicable field
  • A keen eye for identifying opportunities and the fortitude to see them realized
  • 6-8 years Financial Analyst experience
  • Highly proficient with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or other applicable field (or equivalent experience)
  • Familiarity with integrated financial systems

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • 6-8 years Financial Analyst experience in the building automation, construction, or similar industries
  • Graduate’s/Master's Degree
  • Familiarity with Big Data concepts and applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including presenting
