Job Description:

Service Project Manager – Control Systems
Alpharetta, GA

 

Position Overview
Are you ready for your next dynamic opportunity?  In this challenging role, you will responsible for managing customer service requests for the Controls and Digitalization group reporting to the Service Operations Manager.  The Service Operations group is responsible for supporting customers with installed Siemens Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Excitations Systems.
Execution of these requests could range from service contracts, fixed price projects, and time and material jobs.  The service operations are a 24/7 operation and the face to the customer.  We seek responsible people with exceptional self-starting capabilities.  You will be technically competent to assess customer needs and troubleshoot issues efficiently.  Also, you will communicate professionally in difficult situations and manage complex projects involving multiple internal/external groups.

 

Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
• Managing individual service contracts.
• Execute fixed price projects.
• Create and deliver time & material quotes.
• Create and deliver parts quotes.
• Collaborate with commercial group on forecasting revenue and submitting invoices.
• Collaborate with proposal group on development of proposals.
• Collaborate with sales personnel on customer requests
• Participate in resource planning meetings.
• Participate in customer outage planning meetings.
• Managing the execution of booked orders.

 

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
We require the following to be successful in this role:
• Bachelor’s degree in one of the applicable fields, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Digital Control Systems, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience with Siemens Distributed Control Systems (DCS) to include SPPA-T3000, SPPA-T2000 (TXP/Simadyn D), or Simatic Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s).
• 5+ year experience with the following processes, Combustion Turbines (CT), Steam Turbines (ST), or Boilers.
• A general knowledge of power plant operations.
• Knowledge with the following business concepts: Fixed Price offers, Time and Material offers, Contractual Terms and Conditions, Cost and Revenue calculations.
• Positions requires 30% travel time.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
You will move to the top of the pack if you have:
• Project Management Institute (PMI) Certification.
• Proposal development.
• Engineering change management processes.
• IT knowledge related to networking, Modbus and OPC communications.
• Office applications, Word, Excel, Power Point, Project Scheduling.
• Salesforce.com
• SAP
