Job Description:

Position Overview
 Siemens promotes a safe work environment with a team approach. As our Rail Transport Quality Support Specialist you will ensure the timely inspection of rail vehicles and receiving inspection. Your quality is crucial to the success of supplier quality management and project management in validating material meets specifications and our customers quality expectations
Follows general inspection guidelines to conduct critical non-routine visual, dimensional, mechanical, electrical test and functional inspections on a wide variety of components, assemblies, equipment, systems, supplies and materials.
  • Works independently to perform complex and critical inspection processes, requiring special set-ups of new or unique equipment and interpretation of test data from a variety of sources.
  • May conduct first article inspection of parts and assemblies.
  • Prepares and approves inspection reports, charts, and records regarding quality measures, conformance status, and quantity of material processed.
  • May lead root cause evaluations and corrective actions utilizing quality tools.
  • Prepares charts and simple statistical analysis.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • High school education or equivalent. 
  • Requires a minimum of three to five years of increasingly difficult inspection experience involving the application and working knowledge of sophisticated measuring equipment techniques, specification interpretation and quality control terminology
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • Mathematics skills
  • Familiarity with metric standards
  • Ability to read gauges, scales, metrics, etc.
  • Knowledge of ISO/QA procedures
  • Blueprint and engineering drawings reading skills
  • Knowledge of calibration and calibration techniques
  • Knowledge of safety procedures
  • Knowledge of MRP system
  • Knowledge of statistical QA control (attribute control charts)
  • Documentation skills
  • Knowledge of work order procedures
  • Computer skills
