Job Description:

The GP STP org, formerly TS CS, is seeking a qualified applicant to be responsible for the Project management of the NERC program.

  • Manages all patch management contracts

  • Write proposals with the assistance of App Engineer for Tenders

  • Provide Customer training

  • Work closely with EPC BDM team to answer Customer questions and attend post bids

  • Work closely with the SAG team to resolve technical issues and establish market pricing

  • Instruct and Train FACTS and HVDC FSE’s on how to install patches and resolve communication issues and Siemens Control System operation.

This position is viewed as one of growth. The NERC market is growing considerably, due to regulation and lack of knowledge in the industry on how to work on Siemens proprietary systems. The expectation is the NERC PM would work closely with the GP EPC team to grow the market share and capabilities of Siemens product offering; as well, as determine innovative ways to provide the service to US Customers locally.

The work will be managed at the Wendell, NC office, at Customer Labs, and or mock lineups, and at the Siemens lab in Munich Germany. The NERC PM will provide training to current FSE on how to implement patches at SVC, Series Capacitor, Synchronous Condenser and HVDC stations throughout the United States. Travel is required; up to 30 percent travel annually.

The position is to be located regionally in Raleigh, North Carolina at the Siemens facility in Wendell, North Carolina. The position provides flexibility to work from home during a portion of the week.

  • Plans, develops, implements, and manages the Siemens Patch Management program.

  • Fiscal responsibility for the performance of the Patch management program.

  • Provide guidance and support to Customers in understanding Siemens NERC programs, Remote Monitoring, Asset Identification to existing and new NERC and NRC compliance requirements in our transmission business unit.

  • Entrepreneurial approach to meeting business objectives within the organization.

  • Manage the testing and installation of Patch Management for Customers.

  • Prepare proposals for all levels of patch management service, training, or other program.

  • Prepare and deliver presentations to external Customers.

  • Disseminates timely communication on all compliance-related matters.

Required Skills, Experience, Education:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Visio, Excel and Word.

  • Knowledge and Understanding of Siemens Control Systems

  • 5 or more years of Commissioning experience with FACTS or HVDC systems

  • Working knowledge of Siemens and Schweitzer Protection Devices

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Electric Engineering, or a related technical field with appropriate experience.

  • Experience in the capabilities and/or configuration of cyber security controls, specifically those relating to firewalls, intrusion detection systems, access control, authentication, anti-virus/anti-malware, patching.

  • Strong effective written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to work with a team for support and cross peer both internationally and locally to achieve the objectives.

  • Ability to work at Utility (Electric Power) stations.

  • Demonstrated capability to make sound decisions based on good security practices and principles.

  • Experience with corporate policies and procedures and/or technical writing skills.
