We are working on next generation smart workflow, reading and reporting solutions used in molecular imaging (PET/CT, SPECT/CT, PET/MR). We are currently seeking a summer intern to join our pre-development team in Knoxville, TN.
The ideal candidate is a senior undergraduate or graduate student with excellent background in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, medical physics or computer science. In this role, you will develop a framework to automate the test of prototypes that implement innovative approaches to efficiently extract clinically actionable and relevant information using modern approaches including artificial intelligence.
You will drive the evaluation of the new framework with the team and advocate your innovations. This position will provide our candidate with an excellent opportunity for visibility and impact, as you will be reporting directly to the Director of Clinical Applications in the Research and Clinical Collaborations department in our molecular imaging business line.
- Prototyping of clinical application innovations
- Design and implement modules/algorithms
- Perform validation of methods and algorithms
- Develop framework to automate the test of research prototypes
- Support scientists by enabling validation efforts of their prototypes using developed framework.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
o Ideal candidates should be senior undergraduate or graduate student in computer science / biomedical engineering / medical physics or related field and a proven record in research, innovative thinking, real world problem solving, and prototyping.
o Candidate should be proficient in programming languages especially C++ (using Microsoft Visual Studio), Python/or other scripting language.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
o Prior experience in medical product development and quality systems is preferred.
o Prior experience in more than one medical imaging modality is preferred.
o Prior experience with MevisLab – a powerful modular framework is preferred.
o Prior experience with machine learning packages such as TensorFlow, Pytorch is preferred.
o Prior experience working in interdisciplinary teams is preferred.
o Prior experience in software test methodology and automated testing using software such as Renorax is preferred.
o Prior experience with version control system such as git, SVN or TFS is preferred
o Prior experience with image/signal processing is preferred.
