Join our team now at Siemens Healthineers as Technical Accountant 5

 

Siemens Healthineers seeks Technical Accountant 5 to become a key contributor to its Accounting Policy team. This person will be responsible for researching, documenting and implementing accounting positions and IFRS pronouncements. This person will work collaboratively with business units and across functional groups to understand business transactions and to form well-reasoned accounting judgments and conclusions.

Job Role and Responsibilities:

 

·         Provide guidance in accordance with Siemens financial reporting guidelines and IFRS (international financial reporting standards)

·         Draft  accounting policies and papers for new accounting pronouncements and ensure that existing policies reflect current accounting guidance

·         Communicate changes related to the reporting and accounting guidelines and help align key accounting processes with the changes

·         Collaborate with the business units and functional groups on a broad spectrum providing technical accounting support and oversight for significant and complex transactions in the area of  revenue recognition, M&A accounting and system integration, lease accounting, provisions, intangibles and other complex accounting topics

·         Partner with the business units to develop relevant and tailored training materials

·         Lead educational efforts to roll-out new accounting guidance

·         Review and approve complex journal entries and account reconciliations

 

Required Experience/Knowledge:

·         At least Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance 

·         CPA or equivalent such as Chartered Accountancy (CA)

·         10+ years of public or non-public (Big 4 or industry Fortune 500) accounting experience with exposure to technical accounting groups

 

Preferred Experience/Knowledge:

 

·         Strong oral and written communication skills

·         Experience in supervisory or management role within a matrix organization

·         Ability to use own judgment and initiative in problem resolution

·         Communicates clearly and succinctly using written and verbal skills to influence, negotiate and collaborate effectively

·         Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and the proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and priorities

  • Proficiency in SAP and in MS office applications
  • Eager and passionate to navigate and understand complex business processes
