Job Description:

Position Overview

As an Aero Performance Engineer you will be oversee main function to achieve excellence in Performance & Reliability of turbo compressors, in the revamp, aero / mechanical design, construction, installation, aftermarket service and technical support functions

  • Primary accountability: achieving technical objectives within schedule and budget for all contracts, supporting Marketing & Sales in proposal development for revamps or Parts orders, and providing technical support to customers on installed fleets.

  • Serving the legacy Rolls Royce, Delaval and oOEM fleets




  • Provide aerodynamic design guidance to the project team, working with Product Design Engineers, Layout Drafters, Core Tech Engineers and Project Managers
  • Responsible for contract performance modeling, selecting appropriate flow path components and detailed aerodynamic design of impellers, diffusers, return channels and volutes
  • Support Marketing & Sales in proposal review and development of technical solutions
  • Provide technical support to customers on installed fleet
  • Support Olean shop performance testing as required


Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience


  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in engineering design
  • Knowledge of CFD, 3D CAD, Microsoft Excel and Office products
  • Up to 10% travel


Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience


  • M.S or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years in turbomachinery aerodynamic design
  • Strong in analytical disciplines such as mathematics, thermodynamics and aerodynamics
  • Programming skills in VBA
  • Proficient with ANSYS CFX, Uni-Graphics or SolidWorks (solid modeling)
  • Prior experience with performance testing, instrumentation and data reduction
