The Channel Manager for the Large Drives (LD), Medium Voltage Drives (MVD) division, is responsible for the strategy development, execution, and management of the MVD Channel, which includes manufacturers’ representative network of partners, distribution partners, and internal Siemens sales engineers. Reporting to the Medium Voltage Drives Business Development Manager ( Business Segment Head currently acting), the Channel Manager will work with the Business Unit and Sales Division to define and maintain partner related programs and policies. The Channel Manager is also responsible to drive a consistent approach in managing partners and providing common messaging to the channel. Additionally, they will lead an organization of approximately 4-6 individuals to drive the overall definition, implementation of and adherence of channel programs and policies.
Provide leadership and daily management of the MVD Business Development channel team to meet sales revenue, profit, and/or expense objectives for direct and/or channel sales. Meets or exceeds stated goals for the business.
Work with all regional sales personnel and business unit representatives to meet and exceed channel performance goals & objectives.
Drive consistent implementation of all channel functions, policies, practices, and key messages.
Manage manufacturers’ representatives’ views and concerns to senior management, including regular council meetings.
Analyzes, evaluates, develops, and executes channel strategy.
Understand and communicate strategic direction on channel business capabilities.
Assist in developing channel lead strategies to grow share geographically.
Work with businesses to formulate programs and assist in the execution of plans such as the launch of new products, promotions, pricing strategies, and training programs.
Champion all communications and feedback to/from the channel to ensure execution of sales stimulation activities, programs, and strategies.
- 5-7 years minimum of successful experience in a directly related field, ideally with channel management responsibility
- Successful track record in a sales or marketing leadership role
BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
Masters in Business Administration is preferred.
Previous experience within the Medium Voltage Drives market is preferred but not essential.
