Job Description:

Objective – The Human Resources intern will be responsible for facilitating the day-to-day activities and administrative operations of the Human Resources Department with an emphasis on Recruitment. The intern will support all HR initiatives and projects.


Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate interview scheduling with hiring managers and candidates
  • Administer Applicant Tracking System, updating applicant status accurately and timely.

    • Input job description into ATS and post requisitions.

    • Engage with HR Business Partner and Hiring Managers in the candidate selection process.

    • Offer letter creation and management

    • Make offers to selected candidates and facilitate offer negotiations.

    • Administer hiring closeout process and transition to HR Business Partners for New Hire Onboarding.

  • Be knowledgeable of position requirements and support HRBP in developing job descriptions.

  • Initiate background screenings with vendor and follow up with candidates as needed

  • Assist with employee onboarding tasks and ensure all proper employment documentation is completed and collected

  • Assist with data entry for background checks, employee changes and any HR systems data entry as needed

  • Assist with various ad-hoc Human Resources projects and perform other duties as assigned in supporting the Human Resources Department.

Requirements:

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher preferred

  • Graduating in spring or summer of 2019

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others on projects and assignments to achieve optimal results.

  • Ability to quickly learn the SGT business and understand the value proposition to SGT.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs.

  • Creativity in problem solving and alternative solutions.

  • Proven ability to present information in both 1 on 1 and large group settings.

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines and schedules

  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and work with highly sensitive data and information

  • This position will be based in Reston, VA.
