FlexForce MR Technologist Job Description


In this role the successful candidate will perform cardiovascular MR examinations. The candidate will represent Siemens Healthineers with a foremost focus on patient experience and well-being.

 

The candidate will work with the Director Cardiovascular MR. In addition the candidate will also work with the Siemens MR Modality team, the MR Internal Training and Development Specialists, Education and Service Management, to promote positive customer engagement as well as sharing of knowledge and expertise.  The candidate will perform MR Technologist duties as listed below. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Professional Administration

  • Help oversee quality CV exams at the AIC, ensure satisfactory oversight of the facility to ensure compliance with policies.

  • Ensure effective reconciliation of patient access, billing, regulatory and core process documents in a timely fashion

  • Working with schedulers to ensure the highest degree of access to our referring physicians on a daily basis

 


  • MR Technologist Duties:

    • Performs high quality Cardiovascular MRI diagnostic imaging procedures on according to department procedures and protocols

    • Ability to work calmly and compassionately with MD and RN to ensure satisfactory attention to complex hemodynamically unstable patients who may be referred for cardiac MRI

    • Be experienced with working with claustrophobic patients and assist the RN/MD to ensure a high-quality exam

    • Locating and recording internal elements of the body, and identifying any anomalies indicative of disease, injury, or other medically significant conditions

    • Adjusting equipment and eliminate test artifacts

    • Monitoring the patient for potentially dangerous physical and emotional changes

    • Evaluating test results for clarity and accuracy

    • Reviewing tests with peers and physician to ensure that the highest quality CV exams are performed

    • Informing physicians of preliminary findings as requested according to department procedures

    • Distributing completed test results to physicians and service providers

    • Preparing the CV reporting software with diagnostic information for physician interpretation and completion, by logging into patient information systems for tests performed

    • Entering diagnosis and billing codes

    • Cleaning and sterilizing equipment and work space

    • Recognizing equipment malfunctions and readjusting equipment or preparing referrals for repair

    • Instructing patients in pretest preparation, answering questions, and explaining procedures to the best ability possible

    • Compliance with Siemens, hospital and departmental policies and procedures

    • Maintaining equipment according to Infection Control procedure

    • Maintains technical competency through continued education and participation in Siemens training programs

    • Under guidance and approval of site cardiologists, administers contrast agents according to site-specific protocols

    • Maintains current Permits to Practice in all states in which services are performed

    • Performs equipment quality checks and troubleshoots problems. Calls for service and notifies all pertinent team members

    • Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality

    • Performs additional duties as required

    • Interact with client personnel and team members in an autonomous responsible, professional and ethical manner

    • Must be flexible, reliable and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative

       

 

Base Experience & Job Criteria:

  • Clinical Radiographer background with a minimum of 5 years MRI clinical cardiovascular experience required from a high-volume program

  • Experience in vascular imaging a requirement

  • Must have strong communication skills both written and verbal

  • ARRT Certified in MRI

  • Additional ARRT certifications and registries a plus

  • AS/BA or BS preferred

  • Successful completion of AMA-sponsored School of Radiologic Technology program

  • BLS  (Basic Life Support) certified

  • 1.5T MAGNETOM Aera experience required

  • Management/supervisory experience a plus

  • Day shift; Mon- Fri
