Virtual Education Solutions (VES) organization is responsible for the development and transfer of education and training curriculum for both In-vivo and In-vitro Customers and Sales specialists, along with education innovation and services for the healthcare professional. All individuals in VES work cross functionally with a network of subject matter experts and functions, including but not limited to: Product Marketing, Communications, Creative Resources, Branding, Second Level Support, Research & Development, Global Commercialization teams, and other groups in the education and Services. Direction for VES is provided by establishing annual strategic imperatives. These imperatives will create the foundation of tactical initiatives for continued improvement in medical device virtual education, performance support and cloud-based services, customer relationships, method penetration, cash-flow, productivity, and building organizational excellence.
As a member of VES, the Business Operations Consultant is responsible for all departmental commercialization implementation and maintenance activities. Taking strategic and operational direction from the Sr. Manager of Business Operations & Commercial Activities, the Business Operations Consultant actively participates with the Manager of VES and subject matter networks to support global business strategies for VES products, solutions and services. The Business Operations Consultant works with the VES leadership, Finance, Procurement and respective partners on all financial, procurement, and operational initiatives in support of existing and new VES products, as well as Siemens Healthineers systems The Business Operations Consultant fulfills diverse assignments that support departmental and business needs as outlined below.
a. Metrics/Analytics: Supports and maintains the department metrics and analytics strategy to support all VES commercial products including metrics on revenue generation, costs, and project budget management. Additionally, maintain the metrics on all website data for the entire HILS tool suite including content availability, progress, and translation data. Support VES leadership in guidance and management of ongoing report needs. Work closely with the VES Innovations and Marketing teams to implement technologies that support the overall department KPIs.
b. Business/Finance Administration: Create and maintain all VES commercial subscription pathways. Including standard operating procedures and work packages for both VES and the larger Siemens Healthineers organization. Create and approve specific licenses in the HILS tools suite for PEPconnections as well as provide reports on licenses per country/region/business line. Create/submit/maintain all department Service Level agreements and track associated cost transfers. Support VES leadership in creating business plans for future commercial products and activities.
c. Procurement Activities: Create all departmental purchase requests in the OneSRM tool. Ensure vendor paperwork is accurate and maintained according to Siemens guidelines. Create and maintain a departmental procurement overview and standard work procedures. Evaluate and research costs to ensure purchases adhere to the best quality and cost measures.
d. Vendor Relationship Management: Key contact for all 3rd party department vendors. Ensure compliance to procurement processes as well as maintain all vendor master files. Create/maintain all master service agreements for vendors as well as track purchase orders and paid invoices per vendor. Collaborate with Commodity Management for adherence to specific policies.
e. Customer Relations, Meetings, Workshops: Support Marketing team on managing customer questions, feedback and insights. Ensure accurate messaging and clear follow-up. Liaison across the business for Customer facing opportunities. Provide logistical support for VES, Event Planning and Portfolio Managers for Global Meetings, Tradeshow and Congress Planning activities Coordinate VES activities for VIPs and other Customer activities or Partner visits. Support all Sales and Marketing activities.
From time to time, the Business Operations manager may assign additional unlisted duties/responsibilities on a temporary or regular basis depending on business needs.
Business Operations Consultant is responsible for understanding the Quality Management System. Individual needs to integrate their knowledge of the quality policy and business objectives into their work practices to augment the business such as: participating in internal audits, identifying areas which need improvement, implementing plans to correct and prevent problems. Incumbent is required to meet all Quality Management System requirements for the functional group and Siemens Healthineers.
Business Operations Consultant is responsible for understanding all Financial and Procurement processes, as well as Branding Standards for Healthcare knowledge of all Education Consultant Processes (Product Development Processes) and Innovation and Development for holistic view to support VES activities. Individual needs to integrate their knowledge of their work practices to augment the business such as: participating in meetings with Finance, conducting research, leading project teams and meetings, maintaining project plans, and developing VES business plans in support of commercial launch initiatives
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing – or discipline related to these areas
2-5 years professional experience with increasing responsibility and various assignments in Business Operations with proven track record.
Demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of field of specialization through successful completion of moderately complex assignments.
Successfully applies complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization.
Requires high degree of interpersonal communications for negotiation, team leading, network management, and presentations.
Project planning and management skills essential for the numerous team projects required.
Requires experience with leading edge training tools and technologies in graphics, computer-based training, and production of presentation materials.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
Experience with statistical analysis tools and methods for evaluating training needs and effectiveness desired. Must be committed to on-going intellectual and professional development, including knowledge of current and emerging technology.
