Engineering Manager

The Siemens Healthineers Digital Incubator is seeking an Engineering Manager to add a highly technical, hands-on, and mission-driven engineering leader to support our initiatives. You will be responsible for the work output of a team engineers, working closely with the Product and Design teams. You will hire, mentor and coach your team, thriving in a fast-paced environment, showing strong cross-functional and collaborative acumen and deliver at your highest potential.

This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Product development discussions and mapping functional requirements to a technical design and a project schedule.

  • Having technical discussions with team members to agree on product scope and delivery schedules, tracking schedules and related dependencies.

  • Coordinating architecture and design documentation.

  • Communicating with external teams (written and oral) on various aspects such as business value, technical design, project schedules, etc.

  • Reviewing design and code produced by engineers.

  • Driving quality improvement initiatives and engineering processes.

This position may suit you best if you are familiar with what is below, and would like to do develop your career with Healthineers:

  • Strong communication skills dealing with large cross-functional teams about various engineering topics such as system architecture, detailed design, APIs, project schedules, etc.

  • Engineering acumen to make the right trade-off choices when dealing with functional complexity, conflicting priorities and aggressive schedules.

  • Ability to quickly understand the business context of product requirements and map it into a technology solution.

  • Experience reviewing design and code and providing actionable feedback and follow-up on all technical topics and solutions.

  • Experience coaching, mentoring and inspiring team members.

  • A learning attitude to continuously improve self, team and the organization.

Required skills to have for the success of this role:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S) in Computer Science, Engineering or related field with 10+ years’ experience.

  • 3 years of hands-on technical leadership and people management experience.

  • Willing to travel up to 30%.
