We are looking for a Sales Executive who excels at developing relationships, discovering customer goals/needs and presenting complex technical offerings in a compelling way. This sales role will be focused on existing end user accounts but is not a typical order-taking inside sales role. You will be the face of Siemens and the primary point of contact for assigned accounts. You will move beyond the tactical customer contacts like the Director of Facilities and develop relationships at the VP and CFO/COO level. You will learn about your customers’ businesses and find ways that Siemens can help them achieve their business goals. You will prepare tailored slide decks and deliver engaging presentations that showcase the many ways that Siemens offerings are aligned with the customer’s needs. With support from a service project estimator, you will respond to customer requests for moves, adds, changes, upgrades and migrations.
Although this position is considered to be a part of the building automation sales team, the primary focus of this role will be expanding our portfolio of services within your assigned accounts. Siemens has a robust offering of technology for buildings. Examples include IoT sensors, cloud services, lighting controls, electrical services and fire alarm systems. You will be responsible for intuitively grasping how various technical solutions like these could address your customers’ needs. You will need to successfully navigate the various decision influencers within your assigned accounts in order to deliver these wins.
The other main focus of this role is specifically in the field of building automation (HVAC controls). You must have a strong understanding of how a central plant operates and how a building automation system (BAS) integrates with mechanical equipment throughout the building. However, you do not need to have the deep level of knowledge regarding Siemens BAS products that would be required to develop a scope of work or an estimate for service projects. When your customers contact you about work they need performed on their BAS, you will need to know what qualifying questions to ask and how to explain the scope of work in technical terms so that the service project estimator can quickly and efficiently develop the pricing and proposal.
You will be responsible for estimating and proposing service agreements. In many cases, these will be renewals and require minimal effort. In the case of proposing new service agreements for an expanded portfolio, you will have primary responsibility but will receive support from the operations and sales management team.
In order to be successful in this role, you will need strong organizational skills. You need to be skilled at building rapport and networking. You will need to have a grasp of financial and accounting terms and be able to develop ROI calculations. You need to be relaxed and engaging when delivering presentations and you need to be able to develop presentations that are appealing and reinforce your verbal message.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Education and Experience
- Required education: High School diploma, state-accredited GED, or state-recognized high school placement exam.
- Required experience: Demonstrable ability to comprehend and explain the labor and materials associated with the type of electrical and mechanical infrastructure required for building automation systems. This understanding could come from working other related roles in the building controls industry, or even from performing other technical roles from other segments of the HVAC and low voltage industries.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Education and Experience
- Preferred education: Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering or computer science.
- Preferred experience: Three to five years of business development or executive-level account management.
