Buyer Position
The Siemens Mobility, Inc. GA400 factory is looking for an entry level buyer to purchase goods, materials and commodities to ensure that factory production needs are met, by considering price, quality, delivery lead times and ensuring continuity of supply. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to progress through the Supply Chain group and show leadership qualities and potential.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage resources and activities required for the completion of purchasing transactions, including sourcing and expediting purchase orders to support fulfilment of production schedules.
Act as a point of contact between the production planner and supplier to manage transactions and flow of parts.
Process purchase orders based on supply/demand requirements in SAP ERP system.
Maintain purchase orders with supplier confirmation dates.
Manage short cycle demands, customer emergencies, expedite past-due, urgent demands.
Facilitate inventory management by acting on cancellation requests, supporting other inventory programs.
Evaluate and drive resolution on material quality, price, supply issues, delivery and invoice discrepancies.
Propose and implement job related process improvements, participate in cross-functional projects.
Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact factory operations.
Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organization.
Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications.
Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken with all supplier relationships.

Commercial and financial awareness with a full understanding of how production can be impacted both positively and negatively.
Able to work well under pressure and handle emergency and stressful situations.
Attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualifications and Experience Level:
BS/BA degree in related discipline OR a HS Diploma with 1-2 years relevant experience in Production or Supply Chain Logistics.
Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, and pricing structures.
Experience of working closely with suppliers.
Experience with SAP ERP system (preferred).
Knowledge of computer software applications (MS Office, MS Outlook) and hardware.
