The incumbent for this position will be based out of the Hoffman Estates, IL; Glasgow, DE or Tarrytown, NY locations. US Marketing Manager supporting Automation which includes managing all commercial, strategic and tactical marketing for each product aligning with the BA strategy.

Strategic Marketing Responsibilities: Candidate will align with their BA Marketing colleagues to identify strategies necessary for successful management of these products in the US Region. Candidate will develop accurate forecasting for long term planning, implement marketing programs, develop product positioning and promotional value-sell tools. Leads effective life cycle management within the region, inclusive of product end of sale, end of life, and product launches (pricing, positioning, targeting, promotion, education), leads the team in the development of US relevant Marcom materials, present Aptio at customer events (VIP’s, trade shows, Diagnostic Days, etc), create the customer experience at various trade shows, position as key liaison with BA Automation and Informatics Marketing Team and Sales Training Department.

Full P&L responsibility for Automation including Aptio, StreamLab and ADVIA Automation franchises and shared responsibility of the overall Informatics franchise. Candidate will quickly understand the drivers of financial performance of the Automation and Informatics franchises, track and report against related metrics, and recommend and execute specific, commercial strategies for performance improvement. When appropriate, the Candidate will develop and present business cases to the global Business Area for enhancement to the Automation portfolio--and sales or process improvements to the North American Leadership Team--that would deliver incremental revenue and/or profitability to the Automation franchises in the US market.

Tactical Business Management/Marketing Responsibilities: Candidate will monitor business metrics for the products managed. Assist with the data input for the MBR processes. Implement, and track successful marketing programs. Lead special projects as needed

1. Typically greater than 5 years of experience in the US laboratory business. A dynamic understanding of clinical testing trends, laboratory competitors, hospital economics, and Medicare reimbursement trends required.
2. Minimum of 3 years experience in the in-vitro diagnostic industry; preferably in a marketing or sales role.
3. Experience leading a team and or managing projects with inter-organizational impact.

Job Family Responsibilities:

Guides the development of business plans and product introduction plans on a global or regional basis. Guides/organizes the cross functional activities related to training, documentation, tools, sales, marketing, service, logistics/manufacturing. Guides the creation of pricing structures and price positions for products within area of responsibility, including ROI impact. Provides input into the requirements for the development of new products or enhancing existing products or product lines. Provides very complex technical application assistance. Guides the evaluation and monitoring of product/solution throughout all stages of Quality Cycle (proposal, definition, build, validation, production, end of enhancements, end of availability, end of support).


BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Knowledge and Experience:

Demonstrates and applies comprehensive knowledge of field of specialization to the successful completion of complex assignments. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. Demonstrates significant knowledge of organization's business practices and issues faced and contributes to problem resolution of those issues. 8-10 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.
