Job Description:

The Process Automation Business Segment is seeking a Procurement Professional who will be responsible for the supply of materials based on customer requirements at the lowest total cost of ownership while meeting the project objectives for quality and on-time delivery.

The Procurement Professional will report directly to the
Strategic Procurement Head     

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Define commodity strategies for assigned spend considering the global sourcing strategies but tailoring them to fit the business requirements               
  • Support the Proposal Stage with negotiation strategies as defined by the Project Procurement Manager in the proposal stage             
  • Process the POR’s in assigned queue for pricing or Purchase Order issuance in accordance with required strategies               
  • Prepare and conduct negotiations required for issuing Purchase Orders                  
    Validate accuracy of PORS                  
  • Ensure compliance with Siemens correct buying guidelines
  • Generate Purchase Orders in SAP based on the Requisition and obtain order acknowledgement
  • Verifies the Capri Level of the Requisitioner for Cost Center POR’s                  
  • Ensure that general and project specific terms and conditions are in purchase orders                  
  • Ensure that the applicable components, the VQRP and SDRL are included in RFQ’s and Purchase Orders                  
  • Escalate to Engineering Management when some of the requirements are missing                  
  • Create the Price Comparison Sheet for any PO’s greater than $10,000.00                  
  • Netifies Project Procurement Manager of any Budget deviations per cost account (WBS)                  
  • Obtain information from suppliers in order to complete supplier setups (SAP, C4S, ASD).                  
  • Coordinate with Engineering the evaluation of technical proposals                  
  • Execute an Advanced Negotiation Concept as required (i.e. e-auction)                  
  • Perform Supplier Evaluations and Supplier Development Plans for the assigned commodities, including establishing supplier score cards               
  • Support  the resolution of Supplier’s NCR’s                  
  • Escalate to management any poor performance issues from the supplier; Manages suppliers OTD.                  
  • Participate in the Supplier Qualification Process for new suppliers of key major components                  
  • Support resolutions of GR/IR for GSS requests                  
  • Keep the Project Procurement Manager informed of any Project Relevant events or changes                 
  • Provide input for the Commodity Dossier to the KCM; responsible for establishing and maintaining KCM network                  

Technical & functional knowhow (Technologies / Methodologies / Professional Knowledge / Languages)

  • Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced, ever changing environment, with  management supervision                 
  • Ability to negotiate, monitor price trends, and implement processes and procedures                 
  • Manage supplier evaluation, development activities                 
  • Experience performing in high paced project bid environment                 
  • Good financial analysis skills/capabilities                 
  • Strategic procurement experience and engineering background a plus                 
  • Able to understand project scope and create equipment list to be expedited                 
  • Experience in contract negotiation/drafting/execution                 
  • Matrix organization experience                 
  • Project/bid business
