Siemens Postal Parcel and Airport Logistic LLC (PPAL) is seeking an experienced Senior Estimating, Bid & Proposal Specialist to support the Airport Logistics business at our DFW location. This office based position is responsible for the estimation of baggage automation systems projects. You must have the skills and knowledge to receive project specifications from the sales team and create equipment requirements from customer/consultant drawing package (new equipment, demo, temporary/phasing, request for quotes to purchasing). In addition, the ability to review the system design and configuration, assemble and validate all department estimates for final pricing submittal to the customer is critical. You will also participate in sales to operations turnover meetings and must understand the process of construction projects and the requirement to document all changes or deviations from the specification.
-Requires experience with developing bill of material and interpreting engineering specifications.
-Must have excellent computer skills to include MS Word and Excel.
-Must have good interpersonal skills as this position will require coordinating all departments in an effort to provide quality estimates in short time frames.
-Will work closely with the sales team to develop bid strategies and help manage resources to complete each bid on time.
-Requires the ability to multitask as the position will require working on multiple bid efforts at a time.
-Will work closely with purchasing to identify material cost reductions.
-BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification may be required in some areas
-The position requires an education in engineering, drafting, design and 2-5 years related experience in the engineering/estimating field.
-Typically 8-10 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.
