Position Overview

Within the America’s Digital Service Center in Siemens Smart Infrastructure division, the Data Quality Analyst works collaboratively to ensure client reporting reliability through proactive data quality auditing and ongoing data validation services.

Data Quality Analysts primarily act as data stewards for automated data streams into the Siemens Navigator platform. This includes active monitoring using a variety of tools, error correction, and field notification when issues are identified.

  • Manages cyclical data quality checks for a portfolio of assigned clients

  • Identifies data skips, gaps, and outliers

  • Diagnoses errors to the extent possible, including root cause identification

  • Corrects anomalies resulting from hardware resets and/or incorrect meter properties

  • Collaborates with internal teams for on-site or remote troubleshooting

  • Documents overall trends in data quality and proposes informed solutions to reduce errors, increase efficiency through automation, and track emerging issues

  • Contributes to growing body of Navigator data quality resources, including training material, methodologies, and data flow documentation.


Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge required

  • High school diploma, state recognized GED, or state recognized high school proficiency exam

  • Ability to work independently

  • 1+ year of experience with energy-related data and other building systems

  • Familiarity with business intelligence and data visualization capabilities (Navigator, or a comparable BI platform such as Tableau or PowerBI)

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

  • 1+ year of experience with data auditing, preferably with large datasets

  • Advanced MS Excel knowledge (VBA)

  • Familiarity with basic coding principles (conditional logic, variables, loops)
