Job Description:

PreSales Solution Consultant III

 As part of the software sales team, participate in the sales process to facilitate sales of

software.  Leads the engagement with customers and prospects to gather high level customer business

and technical requirements, understand existing IT infrastructure and determine customer's business

needs as part of the sales effort.  Utilizing experience in managing large construction or

operations & maintenance projects and managing large assets in the Oil & Gas or Process space,

speak with authority and be a trusted advisor on our customer's business issues.  Lead the

selection of appropriate suites of technology that apply to the Oil & Gas and Process space, the

development of proposals for customer process improvement which ensures the interoperability and

effectiveness of the overall solution within the context of the customers business. 

 • Engage with customers to gather business and technical requirements, determine business needs and

architect appropriate solutions within the project management and engineering domain

• Utilizing advanced knowledge of customer business needs in the Oil & Gas or Process industries,

engineering and construction processes, industry best practices and competitive differentiation,

prepare and deliver compelling demonstrations of PLM software solutions to customers in support of

selling efforts.

• Critical contributor within PLM sales process

• Maintain excellent knowledge of Oil & Gas and Process Industries



• This candidate will be responsible to establish and build a trusted adviser and credible business

and technical consultant relationship with clients and sales executives

• Oversee and guide the client in the selection of appropriate solutions and suites of technology

• Technical Account Management

• Gather and advise the customer in the definition of high level business and technical


• Provide guidance and mentoring on the technical capabilities and business value of their current

and proposed Siemens solution portfolio


• Develop and deliver presentations, demonstrations, proof of concepts, proposals and business and

technology status reviews


Minimum Requirements:

• Able to travel, up to 50% of your time

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering relevant to the Energy/Process Industry or equivalent experience

• 5 years of experience managing large capital or operations & maintenance projects in the Oil & Gas or Process space.

• Experience with industry specific IT systems in document and data management and engineering disciplines

• General knowledge of PLM enterprise systems and/or requirements management systems

• Business process knowledge in Energy and/or Process industries

• Advanced level presentation and communication skills

Preferred Requirements:

• 3+ years of Team center experience

• 2 + years of successful expertise in digital enterprise space.

• Experience as a pre-sales consultant in the PLM space

• Recent experience applying advanced knowledge and experience (product, industry, professional, technical) in the Energy Industry

• Proven record of ability to present technology solutions in front of groups while incorporating specific selling techniques.

• Comfortable with MS Windows and loading and configuring enterprise apps

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Experience with industry document and data management solutions and engineering tools is preferred.
