Job Description:

Position Overview

 

 

 

Processes engineering changes and implements changes on shop floor.  Analyzes parts requirements created by engineering changes.  Communicates with purchasing regarding new requirements driven from engineering changes.  Communicates with production to implement engineering changes.  Ensures all required paperwork for jobs with engineering changes is updated.

 

 

 

Responsibilities

 

 

 

  • Responsible for processing engineering changes and implementing changes where needed.

  • Responsible for communicating changes to orders in production (drawings, documents, processes, BOM, etc…) with production supervisors and managers.

  • Responsible for the coordination of material movement needed as a result of engineering changes for orders in production.

  • Responsible for communicating new requirements to purchasing as a result of engineering changes.

  • Responsible for communicating updated drawing revisions to purchasing as a result of engineering changes.

  • Responsible for serving as an additional resource for production scheduling and assisting the team in all functions related to production control as needed

     

 

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

 

 

 

  • Microsoft office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) – must have strong excel experience and background

  • HS diploma or equivalent required. 1-2 years of vocation/technical training or an Associate’s degree may be required. Specialized skill training/certification may be required.

  • 2-4 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment

  • SAP experience – preferably within production planning, materials management, and warehouse management modules

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

 

 

 

  • Knowledge of bill of material (BOM) structures

  • Knowledge of order and material routings

  • Manufacturing process knowledge

  • Machining process knowledge

  • Ability to read and understanding drawings / documents

  • Associates degree or vocation/technical training preferred

  • Motor product knowledge

  • Microsoft PowerPoint

  • 5-8 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Understanding of Harris Lean System Red/Green book philosophies
