Job Description:

Position Summary

As the EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the EHS function for the facility in Olean,New York. Assists with the implementation of programs to reduce work-related incidents, injuries, and illnesses and to protect the environment. Works across multiple company functions to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and implementation of best practices. You will also support maintaining compliance to the company EHS systems and processes. 



  • Assist with maintaining and implementing EHS programs and processes
  • Coordinates EHS training and site-specific communications

  • Enter incidents in the company incident management system

  • Participate with the investigative process of near misses and incidents, root causes and implementation of corrective actions

  • Support cross functional teams and EHS committees to improve overall site EHS performance and compliance

  • Maintain the site chemical inventory

  • Work with the plant management to ensure operational activities are risk assessed and ensure safe working procedures are developed and followed, with any identified hazards under proper control and contribute to continuous improvement efforts

  • Support the timely submission of all applicable required EHS permits, licenses and registrations and various internal reporting, as directed

  • Provide support for the site emergency response plan and incident management team

  • Assist with new hire orientations as well as specific in-house safety training for employees and contractors on EHS topics and local rules as well as on the job-specific risks

  • Participate in site compliance audit activities (internal and external) and reviews necessary to meet company and regulatory requirements

  • Perform other EHS-related support activities upon request 

Required Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in a related discipline, or equivalent in education
  • 3 years of EHS experience 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication/presentation skills, both oral and written

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

  • Motivate others and have the ability to work a flexible work schedule, if required

  • Ability to shift focus, organize priorities in a fast-paced environment and work under tight deadlines

  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Travel up to 10% when necessary


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a diversified industrial manufacturing, energy and/or oil and gas environment
  • Experience working in a unionized site
