Position Overview/Summary:


As the LNG Solutions Bid Manager, you will responsible for the preparation and development of technical and commercial proposals integrating the Company’s products and services into a LNG Solution. In this position the bid manager assists the sales team in developing the bid strategy, provides support during Client facing meetings and has the responsibility to coordinate and delivery the LNG Solutions proposal or deliverable. In this position the bid manager will be responsible for both technical and commercial bid activities:

Your Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Lead the company sales teams in the development of selling strategies including input to the offered solution, sales presentations and proposal value proposition.
  • Lead the Opportunity review, interpretation and compliance with Client tender requisition documents, specifications and datasheets.
  • Develop and manage bid and negotiation internal budgets.
  • Drive a competitive costing approach to incorporate the Company’s complete portfolio of equipment, products and services.
  • Coordinate all product, services and engineering input for the bid to the Client.
  • Perform preliminary process equipment evaluations and definition of the extended scope equipment and products with internal business units and external suppliers.
  • Review and evaluate Vendor quotations including preparation of vendor bid clarifications and technical bid analysis. Vendor’s quotation documents may include technical scope of supply, equipment datasheets and specifications, calculations, fabrication schedules, and inspection/test plans, etc.
  • Drive a thorough technical risk assessment process analyzing all risks associated with technology, vendors, local economic conditions, local labor conditions, schedule, and general construction risks.
  • Participate with negotiations teams driving negotiations of complex LNG projects
  • Prepare complete technical and commercial proposals, including equipment and services scope of supply, proposal deliverables, and comments to Client tender specifications and documents, cost estimate and pricing.
  • Prepare and submit internal company Order Entry documentation upon award of project.
  • Evaluate client’s concepts and/or requirements to identify and develop the LNG business solution winning strategy and deliverables while interfacing with Siemens business units to prepare sales deliverables and/or proposals.
  • Define, coordinate and prepare applicable scope RFQ packages to internal company business units and external suppliers.
  • Coordination of proposal project engineering, Siemens product and Siemens services to offer LNG Solution to client.

Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10 years of engineering work experience with an EPC or OEM company in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Knowledge and/or working experience with concentration in rotating equipment (centrifugal and/or reciprocating compressors, etc.) and mechanical driver equipment (gas turbines, electric motors, etc.).
  • Working experience in the development of commercial and technical bidding/quoting processes.
  • Strong experience in the Sales Phase of EPC projects including developing winning sales and execution strategies
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a cross functional team of professionals and project managers
  • Ability to work constructively with stakeholders, building both internal and external relationships.
  • Customer focused, dedicated to meeting expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
  • Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups.

  • Working knowledge and application of Industry Standards and Regulations such as API, NFPA, ASME, BS / EN, FERC, etc.
  • Proficiency in the application of computerized systems, including standard business applications (i.e. MS Office).
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
Preferred Skills/Knowledge/Education
  • Knowledge of facility design for LNG, upstream, midstream and downstream Oil and Gas projects preferred.
