Manufacturing Engineering Manager – Siemens Smart Infrastructure Building Products (SI BP)

    Job Overview 

As a key manager within the Smart Infrastructure Building Products group the position provides strategic and tactical Manufacturing Engineering leadership in support of the Supply Chain organization.


    Responsibilities

·     Responsible for introduction of new products into manufacturing and supporting sustaining products, process improvements & special projects.
Plans, organizes and directs Manufacturing Engineering department activities and responsible for supporting the Control Products and Systems manufacturing operation.
Communicates project status and may participate in preparing for and presenting business cases, functional plans and objectives to higher level management.
Leads, develops and performs all managerial duties regarding department staff. Performs staff management and administrative responsibilities such as recruitment, performance evaluation, mentoring, skills development, disciplinary actions and salary management.
Manages staffing and budgetary requirements to ensure organizations effectiveness. Sets department performance standards and ensures process adherence.
Oversees and manages ISO documentation, outsourcing, SAP, New Product Industrialization processes, Production & Inventory Control, Quality, Design Engineering (HW & SW), Industrial Engineering (plant layout, time studies, assembly processes and equipment), Manufacturing Engineering, and Lean processes, supporting Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical and Electronic products.
Directs engineers, testers, and technicians to provide technical solutions for the assembly and testing of BP product lines.
Ensures team development to formulate solutions in an efficient and effective timeframe. Designs and plans future department activities and requirements.
Participates in annual and quarterly Supply Chain Hoshin Kanri strategic planning and execution activities.
Facilitates technical innovations in manufacturing processes and methodologies such as digitalization, robotics and Industry 4.0.


Education, Experience and Skills Requirements 

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent related experience. Advance (MBA or MS) degree preferred.

5-8 years Manufacturing Engineering experience, and 3-5 years in a related supervisory / managerial role.

Strong understanding of technologies and processes supporting Manufacturing operations. Preferred experience in the areas of product design, manufacture principles, mechanical, electromechanical assembly and test practices.

Expertise and experience with SAP and Team Center.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership and planning skills required.

Strong team player and familiar with working in large matrix organizations.

Knowledge and experience with HVAC and Fire Control products preferred.

Working knowledge and or skills in the areas of ISO documentation, outsourcing, SAP, New Product Industrialization processes, Production & Inventory Control, Quality, Design Engineering (HW & SW), Industrial Engineering (plant layout, time studies, assembly processes and equipment), Manufacturing Engineering, and Lean processes.
