Are you ready to investigate and resolve customer concerns with diagnostic test performance in the context of a cross functional team environment?


This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Biochemist 1, you will be responsible for participating in the investigations of customer event issues/ manufacturing issues.  Duties and responsibilities include:

  • You will coordinate and carry out investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions

  • You will create and participate in the design of experiments
  • You will coordinate and performs data analysis and writes internal reports and documentation

  • You will coordinate and perform customer investigations following written protocols, prepares summary reports escalations

  • You may lead a team or directly investigate current assay performance vs alternative applications in the field

  • You may lead a team or directly investigate the performance of raw materials used in the manufacture of immunoassays

  • You will work in the laboratory running Centaur family of instruments and Atellica instruments with serum and other biological fluids of human and animal origin

  • You may conduct literature searches to help respond to customer escalations.

  • Protein Chemistry and chromatography knowledge and experience desirable
  • Good understanding and knowledge of polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies and principles of immunodiagnostic technology as well as experience with immunoassays desired
  • Experience with automated immunoassay analyzers and/or ELISA and chemiluminescent technology, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office, and Minitab desirable
  • Industrial diagnostics tests development or support, Clinical Laboratory; Medical Technology experience a plus. 

Required skills to have for the success of this role

  • BS in Medical Technology, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, advanced degree preferred
  • Typical job related experience: 3+ years
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret data and to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Strong work ethic, excellent written and communication skills and ability to work as a project leader as well as an independent contributor
  • Must be flexible and demonstrate the ability to switch priorities to meet business needs.
