Product/Process Engineer:

The Distributed Systems (DS) Business Unit of Siemens located near Raleigh, NC has an immediate need for highly qualified, innovative, and energetic Engineer for its Product / Process Team.

 

Position Overview

The objective of the Distributed Systems (DS) Product/Process Engineer is to serve as the key technical resource, and toolset owner for a designated product line/family within the (DS) portfolio.

 

Responsibilities:

Product
  • Serve as a technical lead and maintain product knowledgebase for designated product line/family.

  • Maintain and support configurator rules engine.

  • Continuously strive to increase users toolset efficiency by monitoring commonly added or deleted configurator items.

  • Actively engage the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and R&D (Research & Development) teams in order to anticipate tools and systems-related needs during the stages of new product development.

  • Support standardization efforts alongside PLM for designated product line/family.

     
Process
 
  • Collaborate with PLM and Business Excellence (BE) teams to determine what impact tools/processes have on the overall business financial results.

  • Collaborate with PLM and Business Excellence (BE) teams to understand intra-BU process maps in Siemens and determine strategic areas where additional value could be gained through the implementation of new tools/programs or enhancements to existing platform.

  • Champion and lead a culture of innovation with key stakeholders to promote the use of tools and automation which maximize productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality.

  • Proactively develop new features and maintain current functionality within the current toolset landscape, including NX Tools, SAP, Salesforce, EBASE, Mechanical Toolbox, AutoCAD, and Custom Programs.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to outline required features, acceptance criteria, and anticipated return of defined enhancements. Evaluate defined key performance indicators (KPIs) of implementation to determine anticipated versus actual return.

 Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • BS in Engineering or Engineering Technology with relevant experience.

  • 2+ years of related experience.
  • Experience in Object Oriented Programming. Visual Basic (VBA, VB.net) is preferred.

  • Experience with cloud-based CRM (Customer Relationship Management) solutions (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics).

  • Experience with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) solutions (SAP, Oracle).

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to multitask, manage large workloads, and handle business demands.

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills working with many different teams.

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done with high quality and in a professional manner.

  • An ideal candidate is detailed orientated and able to embrace a culture of quality.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Proven experience developing and maintaining tools to improve efficiency, quality, and cost position at an enterprise level.
  • Experience in 3D modeling of parts and assemblies in 3D software (Teamcenter, SolidWorks, Creo, Unigraphics/NX). NX is preferred.

  • Experience of AutoCad or Engineering Base by Aucotec.

  • Experience with Medium Voltage Switchgear and/or Low Voltage Motor Controllers.
