Job Description:

Siemens Rail Automation is expanding our operations and seeking to hire a New Product Introduction (NPI) Manager.  This position oversees the launch of new products into our North American Operations.


The NPI Manager is the internal focal point for all new products being introduced into operations and within a matrix organization will coordinate/manage all stakeholders such as engineering, R&D, sales, supply chain, operations and quality to ensure a successful start of production of the new products.


In this role, you will be managing/facilitating the execution of NPI into operations by project management via definition of schedule, capital requirement/justification/approvals, NPI budget, identifying/mitigating risk, opportunity/resource allocation, develop product process map, manufacturing line layout, manufacturing site selection process, with responsibility of the overall successful start of production. We would ideally want someone who can see strategically, but also be able to execute tactically.


You will be responsible for the overall success of the function within multi-departments and/or cross-functional areas. Meeting customer on-time deliverables and milestones will measure your success in this role.

 


Responsibilities:

 


§  Subject matter expert with internal stakeholders for launching NPI into operations


§  Project Manager for all functional aspects of introducing new products into operations


§  Develops capital requirements, budgets and timelines for implementation


§  Delivers detailed technical presentation to executive staff on status of NPI launch


§  Liaison with Product Consultants on future new products and potential timing


§  Collaboratively work closely with R&D, Sales, Operations, Quality Assurance, Human Resources, and Supply Chain Management


 


Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience


-BS/BA in related discipline (Technical Program/Engineering) or advanced degree, where required. 


-PM Certification would be a plus.


-5-8 years of hands on successful experience in directly related project management of the introduction of new products and processes into operations – products will include those related to the freight and transit industry, so knowledge of Railroad industry products will be a plus as well as any exposure to a manufacturing environment.
