This is a role well suited to an excellent biological sciences student, with established laboratory skills, looking to gain practical experience in diagnostics R&D. As a Summer Intern, you will be responsible for:

 

  • In your activities you will learn the early stages of assay development in an industry leading diagnostics company setting
  • You will plan projects, acquire materials, execute experiments, and learn documentation and scientific communication
  • You will be part of a collaborative research team in the area of diagnostics as applied to pharmaceutical clinical trials
  • You will develop fundamental skills in molecular biology

This position may suit you best if you are familiar with what is below, and would like to do develop your career with Healthineers

  • You have established lab skills such as pipetting, sterile technique, etc.
  • You have some experience with scientific documentation in the form of lab notebooks or electronic lab notebooks
  • You have some experience in molecular biology techniques
  • You have a good understanding of basic immunoassays as applied to human serum testing; hands-on ELISA experience is a plus
  • You have well developed verbal and written communication skills, and are comfortable working in a collaborative team environment
  • More advanced knowledge of data analysis and statistical software tools is a plus

Required skills to have for the success of this role

 

  • Student in the 3rd or 4th year of a bachelor’s degree; or a graduate student
  • Has completed at least 2 years of coursework in biological sciences
  • Basic lab skills have been established
  • Interest and aptitude for applied in vitro diagnostics research
